January 22, 2022 – Smarts Brook
All dressed up a few days ago.
It’s time for icy trails and microspikes.
Someone is not thrilled about walking on a river of frozen ice.
New shades found in the snow.

A big welcome to Ruth, our new kitchen guardian. Ruth came about after Mark put a chicken in a stock pot and went downstairs for a short meeting…or a meeting that was supposed to be short. The end result was a pot with no water and blackened chicken, filling the kitchen with smoke and even melting part of the cooktop.
Along the Pemigewasset.
Winter is here, but still some open water.
Circus dog on the trail.
Found a new perch just off the Waterville Valley Rd trail.
The light and clouds were doing their thing.
This was the first sunlight after a day of rain.
Glad I decided to go out in the gloom, and be rewarded with this.
From the same place, looking up the valley a few days later.
