April 28, 2018 – Bears in the Woods

April 28, 2018 – Bears in the Woods

At a hike in Cockermouth Forest, we ran across a momma bear and her cubs. When they saw us, they scrambled up a tree.

I was only able to get this grainy photo of the Momma bear.

On the way to the Ledges.

Up on the Ledges.

More up on the Ledges.

The pond at the end of the trail.

Late winter colors in full “bloom.”.

First flowers of the season.

April 21, 2018 – Beebe River

April 21, 2018 – Beebe River

Heard about a brook trout restoration project at Trout Unlimited meetings on the Beebe River and wanted to check out the river.

A big pool with a rope swing near the beginning of the road.

Daisy checking out the river.

More of the beautiful, clear, water.

Parts of the trail still under snow.

Nice place for lunch along a stone wall.
